Welcome to STRIVE - The Student and Teacher Research Initiative for
Vaccine Education.
We are a research group run by and for students and
teachers, founded to provide and promote evidence-based information
about vaccinations. We represent a constantly updated
resource of scientific opinion, studies, reports, and documentaries, that will empower
students to make responsible and educated decisions about their
healthcare.
Going away to college or university
is often the first time a young person has had to make their own
decisions about vaccines. Should they have the
meningitis jab? If so,
which one? Is a
'flu jab necessary? And do you really need it every
year? What about boosters or catch-up shots for previously missed
vaccines? STRIVE endeavours to provide a wealth of
resources to answer
all these questions and more, thereby giving students and their families
the full facts, and the ability to make fully informed decisions.
We
recognise that the safety and efficacy of vaccines is a complex and
controversial subject, and that, when it comes to immunisations and
their risks and benefits, the science is far from settled. For
